• The Edendale Town Centre Civic Zone is a key urban development initiative aimed at establishing a Civic Centre as a priority phase of the broader Edendale Town Centre project. This development is designed to serve as a central hub for government services, business activities, and community engagement, improving access to essential public resources while driving economic and social transformation in the region.
• A comprehensive feasibility study for the Civic Zone has been successfully concluded, laying the foundation for the next phase of project implementation. With an estimated financial requirement of R250 million, this initiative represents a significant investment in urban infrastructure and service delivery.
• Once completed, the Civic Zone is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs, spanning construction, administration, public services, and business support roles. Strategically located within the Msunduzi Municipality, this project will play a pivotal role in enhancing governance efficiency, fostering economic growth, and uplifting the broader Edendale community.
